The Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence Alaska Medical Center performs accurate and timely laboratory testing of patient samples to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Description

Provides accurate, timely, and cost-effective laboratory testing of patient samples to aid in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Provides technical expertise to Providence Alaska Medical Center and other institutions. Meets and exceeds functional criteria for Medical Laboratory Technician II.

We are hiring for Medical Laboratory Scientist position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Position is part-time, 0.8 FTE, 8-hr Evening shifts, 32 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical Lab Science or equivalent educ/experience
  • Education and training equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science with sufficient clinical laboratory experience on human specimens to meet Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification requirements through a nationally accrediting agency, e.g. American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology within 1 year of hire. Or
  • National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology within 1 year of hire. Or
  • National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts within 1 year of hire. Or
  • National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists within 1 year of hire. Or
  • National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience.
