Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Welder with Mechanical Knowledge to join our fabrication team in the United States. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who combines strong welding expertise with practical experience supporting mechanical and hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of mechanical components while working closely with fabrication, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and to specification.
- Perform all cutting, fitting, and welding tasks
- Support fabrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical assemblies
- Assist with installation and repair of mechanical and hydraulic components
- Identify and report mechanical or hydraulic issues
- Work with fabrication, maintenance, and quality teams
- Assist riggers to safely complete tasks
- Inspect parts and materials
- Report equipment and safety concerns
- Review blueprints and work instructions
- Maintain inventory of materials
- Adhere to safety practices
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally, including Norway, Australia, the United Kingdom, and other regions as business needs require.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on welding experience in an industrial or fabrication environment
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with mechanical systems or mechanical assemblies
- Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting or working with hydraulic systems (hoses, fittings, cylinders, or related components)
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally, including Norway, Australia, the United Kingdom, and other regions as business needs require.
- Knowledge of welding tools, equipment, and workstation environments
- Familiarity with welding codes, standards, and dimensional tolerances
- Proficient in cutting, fitting, and trimming metal components to specified dimensions
- Ability to calculate welding dimensions and material requirements
- Ability to interpret model sketches, detailed drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Handles time-sensitive tasks with attention to detail
- Experience with heat testing, bonding, and material preparation
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and components
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Ability to identify mechanical wear, damage, or misalignment
- Experience assisting with mechanical assembly and repair
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and hydraulic issues
